Honoree - Terry Hennessy
The Women Making a Difference Award, formerly called the Women of Distinction Award, honors women who have made outstanding achievements in their professional, business or volunteer activities. Awardees have demonstrated exemplary character, integrity and leadership; and, have been visible and vocal in their field. Their activities relate to at least one of the following areas: economic and social development, education, environment, health, human rights/status of women, and international goodwill and understanding.
Terry Hennessy is simply a remarkable woman, who serves as a shining example of one woman who makes a difference for many women. Terry is the legislative analyst for the Marin Builders Association, the chair of the Marin Economic Commission, a published writer, the mother of three, the grandmother of nine, past Mayor of Tiburon, and best of all, a member of Soroptimist International of Marin County, and our current President.
Terry lives everything that the Making a Difference for Women Award stands for. For years Terry has been tirelessly committed to aiding women and girls who struggle with alcoholism and recovery. Her endless support to promote change and success for these women and girls, and their well-being reflects her spirit, vision and leadership. Terry has always been dedicated to serving others and inspiring others to do the same.
